While I as also against SOPA, I don't see how an American law could have such a wide international effect. I mean, yes I know the US has a ton of people and money and probably generates a majority of content on sites like PB, tumblr and such...but I though PB was Canadian based... so if SOPA is passed and it becomes illegal for anyone in the states to have an online presence (more or less) why wouldn't PB just loose half of its user base an be able to keep operating in other countries?

I'm not saying that to be critical, but he isn't even riding an xc bike and wearing a full face. And its just the category the picture is placed in on PB. I'm not saying if you ride a big with more then 6 inch of travel you shouldn't ride up hill ever, or that hardtails can't go downhill. just that I'd probably consider this at least trail

I don't mind the fisheye so much, It does force perspective, but at the same time I feel like it also made the buildings more interesting... where they aren't whited out. For me its the large white areas (around the elbows) that remove me from the picture. I say removed because this is a seriously badass shot you you killed it otherwise, great job

I'm really disappointed not to see this shot make it farther in photo of the year. I mean, this being PinkBike and the community being 13 year old it makes sense... but I think based of artistic merit and quality this shot is waaay up there and i consider to be a gem I only discovered through the contest. Thanks for sharring

the picture of the year format is actually awful. It allows for an extreme degree of bias which is evident by how many like images were placed against each other. That means the second most popular picture, could actually walk away with nothing because it wasn't as good as the most popular picture.
This is why most play-off formatted anythings have a seeding procedure... I'd be curious to know how the match ups were picked for this contest, if it was by volume of nominations, or if the match ups were hand picked to ensure diversity of the final 4. |

No helmet no pod/vod is just the hays code of bike cinema. I respect PB for lifting it in this instance to see morality as beyond black and white, helmet no helmet, and allow art to enable us to make our own decisions.
